Who do you say that I am?

Jesus came to us fully human.  Not even the Son of God was immune to that nagging desire to look into the eyes of others for a complete sense of self.  Our humanity alone doesn’t make us sinful, for Jesus was sinless and yet He still faced the inner struggle with which we’re each intimately familiar.  When’s the last time you looked at someone and thought to yourself, or even said out loud, “Who do you say that I am?”  Jesus knew who he was, and I think it can be argued that he had a strong sense of self worth and yet he still wondered if others could see what he knew on the inside to be true.  “I know I’m the Son of God, but do you? he asked of his disciples.”  “I know I’m the daughter of God, a child of the King, but do you?  Do you see me in all my glory?”
